Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Visits Kalyan Utsav of Indogulf Cropsciences Ltd
The Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister, Shri Radha Mohan Singh visited the premises of Indogulf Cropsciences Ltd at Nathupur, Dist. Sonipat, Haryana where they were celebrating Kalyan Utsav, A Social Welfare Initiative. He was accompanied by Smt Krishna Gehlawat, Chairperson of the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Shri RK Bhardwaj, OSD to the Chief Minister, Haryana.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh inaugurated the Ambitious Social Initiatives of the company – viz-
Ø Lado No.1 - An effort to help poor farmers educate their girl child.
Ø Kaushal Yatra- A skill development initiative for rural youth
Ø Suraj Ki Chaya & Saksham- Amenities and employment generation opportunities based on Solar Bus stop
Ø Phenkiye Mat- A unique program to provide small bags to car owners for avoiding litter disposal on the road
Ø Kadam ek, Ped Anek- A social initiative to plant, protect and nourish tree .
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister congratulated the company for thinking and acting beyond commercial considerations for the benefit of society, highlighting the Modi Government’s initiatives for agriculture, he mentioned the Soil Health Improvement Program through a budgetary allocation of Rs. 568 Crores for the purpose and Rs. 50000 Crores for small irrigation projects. Similarly an ambitious project for linking of all Mandis in the country is underway so that the farmer gets the best price for his produce. He assured the gathering that the work being done by this government will borne fruits very soon.
Earlier, he gave away certificates to the skill development trainee farmers and cheque of Rs. 21000 each to poor farmers who are facing a challenge in educating their girl child. The Minister also honoured eminent scientists with shawl and a Memento.
On the occasion, Managing Director of Indogulf Cropsciences Ltd, said “it is our endeavour to stay connected to the farmers and take responsibility of their welfare. Our small efforts and contribution in the welfare of farmers may not make huge difference, but that will definitely enrol the industry to be more participative towards the objective. “
The day started with Sunderkand path in the factory premises followed by a cultural Mela enacted by the company’s labours and staff aptly named as Ullas Utsav.
In the evening, prominent Industry Leaders interacted on the various issues facing Agriculture in general and Agri Inputs industry in particular in a Chai pe Charcha.
